Detour

When I first saw Ian Dingman's site and subsequently, his work, I was immediately taken with it. His presentation is sparse and stark, which is perfect because his artwork requires it.

In an increasingly digital medium, whether it is cameras, computer screens as canvas or Flash generated explorations it's refreshing to see artwork created with a person's hands.

There's a subtle but savvy edge to the simplicity of the subjects depicted — whether they're a person, an object or a place.

I'll shut up now.
