Near the former site of the Sherman Mansion, the Marshall Field Jr. House at 1919 S. Prairie Ave. still stands as a reminder of the extravagant homes that lined Prairie Avenue on the Near South Side in the late 19th century. The Marshall Field Jr. House was built is 1884. It is currently empty, but it seems to be undergoing renovations.
