I saw it on Saturday (during the food run) and wondered why no hoopla over this? No press release (that I could find anyway) on the site or anything. It's a good move I think, leaning towards the classic and elegant but at the same time, it'snot particularly impressive or like you mention, it's understated now. When I picked it up or first glanced at it I had no idea (no brand recognition) as to what the paper was until I actually had to read the masthead.
Eh. I'd go back to the old one - was a nice representation of the Holligner Tabloid empire; bold, slightly tacky, and all that.
Pooh-Pooh. Too clean.
Très générique.
I haven't seen it. Is it Red?
It looks like one of those fake papers you can get your face on with "Man of the Year" printed underneath at the County Fair. You know, next to the airbrushed t-shirt booth, just past the ring toss.
It’s kind of boring. When was the last time they changed it anyway? I don’t recall. Didn’t the Tribune change as well recently, and the Daily Herald?
The little flag is practically identical on all three papers.

You know, I noticed it and wondered "When did *that* happen?" I like it better than the old one, which looked very '80s in a cheap way, but it's almost *too* understated now.
