If we had caucuses, 1) Daley can know who exactly backed which candidate because the caucus system requires a public delcaration of which candidate a person is supporting and 2) political party members, rather than bi-partisan judges and non-partisan election officials, will call in the results to the polling stations. Gee, what a great idea.
Caucuses work in Iowa because 92% of Iowans are honest. They won't work in Chicago because at least 25% of the city isn't honest, and that 25% holds most of the positions of power in the party system.
That, and I don't think anyone under the age of 30 will care to attend a caucus.
The caucus idea is awful because it boobytraps non-partisans. Boo caucus.

If financing would truly shift from the state government to the political parties, I'm all for it.
