Party Tonight at Maria's Packaged Goods

Maria's Packaged Goods & Community Bar is hosting a party tonight to celebrate 20 years of Lumpen with the release of The Chairman, an Imperial Red Ale created to remember the men and women who worked on the magazine. The Neocassion: 30 Beers for 60 Minutes

The Neo-Futurists present a special fundraising event for their theater: 30 Beers for 60 Minutes. Over 30 local & regional brews will be available for the sampling, along with an evening of live theater and and auction of several beer-themed prizes (tours of breweries, home-brew kits, etc.). Amos Kennedy @ Lillstreet

Letterpress printmaker Amos Kennedy will be at the Hummingbird Press in the Lillstreet Art Center, 4401 N. Ravenswood Ave., from 5pm to 8pm for a reception and screening of his film, Proceed and be Bold! Free.

Schadenfreude Rent Party

Sketch comedy troupe Schadenfreude returns to the Beat Kitchen 2100 W. Belmont Ave., with a new "Schadenfreude Rent Party." In addition to their own antics, they'll be joined on stage by comic Brian Babylon, AV Club editor Marcus Gilmer and Second City vet Abby McEnany. Tickets are $10. Doors at 7:30pm, show at 8pm. 21+

Vintage Bazaar Pop-up Shop Preview

The Vintage Bazaar holds a preview party for its holiday pop-up shop at 2133 N. Milwaukee Ave tonight from 7pm to 10pm. Peruse furniture, art, clothing and crafts from 14 vendors while enjoying complementary snacks and a cash bar by Longman & Eagle. Tickets are $20 and include one drink ticket. The pop-up shop is open Nov. 12-13 from 10am to 7pm.

Art in Motion Gala @ River East Art Center

A&BC's annual benefit gala - Art in Motion - is today from 5:30 to 10pm, at the River East Art Center, 435 East Illinois Street. This event will feature cocktails, exciting silent and live auction packages, a savory dinner and exhilarating performances by local arts ensembles. This year A&BC's featured performers include the Chicago Human Rhythm Project, Congo Square Theatre, Orbert Davis' Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, the People's Music School and Aloft Aerial Dance. Found vs. Found @ Music Box

Grand Opening of the Read/Write Library Chicago

The Read/Write Library Chicago (formerly the Chicago Underground Library) celebrates the opening of its new space and re-branding tonight at 6:30pm at 914 N. California (use the Walton Entrance). Entertainment will include live jazz by Studio 914, reading and writing performances, activities, crafts and games to help you explore the stacks. The first 50 attendees will receive a limited edition poster. Free, all ages.
