Opening: Ruby Satellite @ HPAC

An interrogation room; a woman repeatedly bursting into flames; a re-staging of a famous public execution: through photography and video installations Ruby Satellite explores the magnetism of authority and its many guises. Sondheim in the Park: Afternoon Performances

Margaret Cho @ Chicago Theatre

Gay icon and super-activist Margaret Cho hits the Chicago Theatre for a Gay Games best-of show—don't be surprised to hear classic bits like "fag hags are the backbone of the gay community" and "Ass Master." 8pm. $46.50. 175 N State. 312-462-6300.

Suzanne Westenhoefer @ Park West

Out comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer, who you may have seen on just about all of the VH1 talking head shows, puts in a Gay Games appearance at Park West. 7:30pm. $30 advance, $35 at the door; advance tickets are available in person at Women & Children First, 5233 N Clark, or by phone at 773-779-2399. Chinatown Summer Fair
