Masonic Temple

Burnham and Root put Chicago on the international map again with the completion of the Masonic Temple in 1892, located on the northeast corner of Randolph and State streets. It was 22 stories tall, which made it the tallest building in the world at the time. But, like the Montauk, the Masonic Temple fell victim to "progress" and was demolished in 1939.
