H.H. Holmes Castle

Again, the city has wiped away all memory of H.H. Holmes and the Englewood community he would have known. The opposite corner of Wallace and 63rd streets, where Holmes built his gruesome World's Fair Hotel, is dominated by train tracks. Just beyond on the train tracks are some fairly recently built townhouses. Although little remains today to remind us of the White City, nothing remains of the grisly legacy of H.H. Holmes, and maybe that is as it should be.
