One thing? Sheesh.
OK, go biking because I haven't done that yet.

Paula / August 2, 2005 8:53 AM

Get out of the city to recharge. I have a long weekend planned downstate in a small-ish town (Effingham) and a week planned at a farm in Albany, Wisconsin - both should help me relax. I know if I took time off and stayed in the city I'd wind up doing chores I 'should do' as opposed to things on my list of 'want to's', so that means getting out of town. On a smaller scale, if I can get my kiester out of bed early enough on a Saturday I'd like to make it to one of the Farmer's Markets.

Y A J / August 2, 2005 8:57 AM

My partner and I just had this discussion this weekend. We choose the two things we HAD to do and booked them right away.
His choice: Baseball in Gary. Railcats?
My choice: kayak to Navy Pier's Wednesday night fireworks.

robin.. / August 2, 2005 8:57 AM

roadtrip!

mike-ts / August 2, 2005 8:59 AM

Get in a long bicycle ride. I usually get in at least one 50+ mile ride per year, though I'll make a gazillion 5-15 mile trips, or make short trips to run errands or make visits. Most everyone I know is either a non rider or a spandex racer, no one in between that has the patience to chug away at 10-12 mph for five plus hours, and I'm sick of solo distance riding. Yup, another excuse. But I've proven to myself that I still "got it" for the past five years in a row, so what's the big deal anymore.

paul / August 2, 2005 9:02 AM

Go to Wrigley (without paying over 75 bucks for a ticket).

I should also be working on my tan.

Emerson Dameron / August 2, 2005 9:33 AM

Pack up and move.

miss ellen / August 2, 2005 9:43 AM

as with some of the other posters, getting my bike fixed & taking it for a ride....

i'm hitting up some more sox games soon, as that's my other biggie. thinking my game on sept 3rd might be close to clinching time ;)

amyc / August 2, 2005 9:48 AM

Same thing I forget to do every summer, Pinky -- try to take over the world.

Eamon / August 2, 2005 9:56 AM

I promised myself I wouldn't let one more summer go by without swimming at a Chicago beach.

lisamay / August 2, 2005 9:57 AM

have a rootbeer float. it isn't really summer until i have one, and i can't believe i haven't done that yet. s'pose that's what i get for 'watching what i eat'.

jen / August 2, 2005 9:57 AM

i must take the doggie to dog beach. and i need to get in a couple more quick weekend road trips.

sky / August 2, 2005 10:04 AM

Obviously more fun in the sun.
Find a cheap apartment.
Figure out what grad schools I'm applying to.
Walk as much as possible.
And find a hottie to have some summer lovin?

e_five / August 2, 2005 10:14 AM

Get out of town. I haven't been north of Morse, west of Ashland, south of 13th St., or east of Indiana since April 1. Isn't that ridiculous?

hazel / August 2, 2005 10:16 AM

I need to spend more time at the beach and I'd really like to get at least half way through Remembrance of Things Past.

Steve / August 2, 2005 10:29 AM

Talk to an accountant about all the fun new tax issues I have to deal with now that I'm self-employed!

jen / August 2, 2005 10:58 AM

funny, i would've said "go to cedar point" but i just did that this last weekend, so i've got nothin'! :)

NotSoHealthy / August 2, 2005 11:02 AM

Eat all the tuna I bought at Sam's Club. Damn You, economy buy!

Shylo / August 2, 2005 11:09 AM

I'm going to see some naked ladies dance as the Lavender Cabaret and the Sissy Butch Brothers are both putting on shows this month. Naked ladies dance!

Baldeesh / August 2, 2005 11:26 AM

Even out this tan that I have - my left arm is brown as hell, where as my stomach makes white look dark.
Clean out my car - it's not gross, it's just waaaay too cluttered.
Buy my bridesmaid dress, and soon, 'cause the wedding is September 25th.

daruma / August 2, 2005 11:28 AM

Movies In The Park - something always seems to come up on Tuesdays. Maybe tonight!

leelah / August 2, 2005 11:53 AM

Go to the Body World exhibit!

And get my probationary driver's license since my real one was suspended...

christy / August 2, 2005 12:00 PM

go to a Chicago Fire match while they're still in Soldier Field

friday / August 2, 2005 12:40 PM

decide which of my new friends was a failed spring fling and mop about it to them like a drunk at a bar going on about thier life's unfulfilled potential.

Eamon / August 2, 2005 1:07 PM

Oh, also: win the Chicago Sport and Social Men's Flag Football championship t-shirt.

Veronica / August 2, 2005 1:25 PM

Get a tan on my legs. I swear, if you just saw my legs you'd have no idea I'm half black.

jen*nee / August 2, 2005 3:02 PM

The one thing I MUST do before summer ends is stop worrying about how soon summer is coming to an end.

And the Against Me! show in September would be awesome, too. Thanks for the idea, Erica.

Natalie / August 2, 2005 3:31 PM

cram in the rest of my summer reading list.
and eat ice cream until I explode.

jk1 / August 2, 2005 4:14 PM

- Get to a Sox game (already have tix vs. Minnesota...)

- Visit the Japanese Gardens in Jackson Park on a weekday morning with my wife

- Long distance bike trip

- Get to an evening orchestra concert at Mil. Park

- Get out to Brookfield Zoo and the Chicago Botanic Garden

jgs / August 2, 2005 6:27 PM

Get busted riding my bike like a badass... or perhaps not get busted after a harrowing highspeed bike chase through the gauntlet of boys town.

but that'll have to wait.

Michael / August 2, 2005 6:50 PM

Find a boyfriend.

Leelah / August 2, 2005 11:16 PM

I went to the Body World exhibit today. what should I do now?

mike / August 3, 2005 12:20 AM

--drive to and swim in the Mississippi River--a yearly ritual.

fred / August 3, 2005 3:35 AM

Vandalism.

waleeta / August 3, 2005 10:57 AM

Hmmmmm.....finish the books I am reading, and go to the Mississippi river with Mike. You never take me on your roadtrips and I am SICK OF IT!!!

pang / August 3, 2005 11:26 AM

Eat as many in-season fruits and veggies as I can before I have to resort to the frozen and dried variety.

Brenda / August 3, 2005 12:04 PM

Knit at a White Sox game with 499 of my closest friends ;)

Tina / August 3, 2005 1:13 PM

Finally get out Millenium Park; more swimming....minus the sunburn; DJ/Dance night at Grant Park; have my garage torn down, and.....last, but definitely not least, make out with a total hottie (haha). Hey, it's a "wish" list....I didn't say it was all going to happen.

Jeigh / August 3, 2005 1:43 PM

SKINNY DIP! ...or at least get back into the lake a few more times with a swimsuit on, I don't have to do it in the nude. It's so gosh durn hot out right now, whenever I am running along the lakefront path I have all I can do not to dive in.

Eamon / August 3, 2005 1:59 PM

I can personally recommend Illinois Beach State Park for the skinny dipping: not nearly as many rangers around this year as in years past. And be sure to bring a buddy!

Overwrought / August 3, 2005 4:02 PM

Eat a cheeseburger and sip on a sangria at Moody's...as long as it's not flippin' hot out.
