Free Comic Book Day 2006

That's right, it's Free Comic Book Day! Use the store locator at the Free Comic Book Day Website to find out which stores in your area are handing out free comics. Personally, I'd go for Chicago Comics near Clark & Belmont, but there are plenty of other stores in town that are participating.

Blood drive @ Sacred Art

Sacred Art, the new Roscoe Village store that sells artwork and crafts from local artists, is hosting a blood drive today from 11:00 to 5:00 at its shop (2040 W. Roscoe). Free food, drinks and other goodies for donors. You'll also get discounts from plenty of other Roscoe Village businesses for the day. A reservation is required to donate blood, so call Sacred Art at (773) 404-8790 to make your appointment. If you can't make it to the blood drive today, you can visit the store at any time this month and purchase items from the store's donation wall; proceeds will go to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.
