The documentary about the 1960s New York art scene, Who Gets To Call It Art?, opens tonight at Facets Cinematheque and plays for one week. The Goodman Theater holds its annual prop sale today and tomorrow. If you've been waiting for a chance to get your hands on some actual props used in the theater's recent plays, now's your chance! Tonight, as a part of MOBfest 2006 the honky tonk music will be in full effect at Martyrs'. Dale Watson is a true honky tonker out of Nashville who sticks to simple, hard-boiled honky-tonk songs about trucking, beer, bars, and women. Opening are the Hoyle Brothers with their brand of genuine country music draws from the genre's deepest traditions--lyrics that speak universal truths, melody lines that melt your heart and two-step rhythms that make your boots scoot. Avram Eisen Gallery, 3243 W. Lawrence, third floor in Albany Park, opens its doors with an inaugural show of paintings by Chicago-based artists Gary Borremans and Cameron Pfiffner tonight from 5pm to 8pm. Come meet the artists and check out the gallery space. Free.
