Jello Biafra, former lead singer of the Dead Kennedys and founder of the classic punk label Alternative Tentacles, will be performing at the Lakeshore Theater tonight at 7:00 PM. Biafra has made a career for himself as a spoken word performer, speaking out against government injustice and hypocrisy wherever it exists. The 14th annual African/Carribean International Festival of Life, a celebration of cuisine and music from all over the world, is underway in Washington Park, at the corner of 55th Street and Cottage Grove. 10 AM to 10 PM; $10 for adults, $5 for children. The Gene Siskel Film Center presents a screening of four essential Monty Python films during the month of July.
