The Chicago Park District's Theater on the Lake series of plays continues this evening. Each week a new play will be offered at the Theater on the Lake stage at 2401 N. Lake Shore Drive. This week's play is World Saved: 5 Years of That's Weird, Grandma by the Barrel of Monkeys theater group. This play will be performed Wednesday, July 5 through Sunday, July 9. Showtime is 7:30 PM (6:30 PM on Sunday evenings). Tickets are $17.50 and can be purchased by calling the box office at (312) 742-7994. The Theater on the Lake series runs through August 13.
This month's edition of Reading Under the Influence focuses on American authors and feature Ray Bradbury biographer Sam Weller. RUI will also showcase more local writers and editors, with Jenny Seay, Frank Crist and Charlie Vlahogiannis joining thie regulars tonight. Come to Sheffield's, 3258 N.
