Dr. Octogon @ Abbey Pub

You might have heard of Kool Keith in your travels around the universe, but tonight he'll be Dr. Octogon at The Abbey Pub. A onetime psychiatric patient at Bellevue, Keith's lyrical thematics remained as free-flowing here as they ever were with the N.Y. trio, connecting up complex meters with fierce, layers-deep metaphors and veiled criticisms of those who 'water down the sound that comes from the ghetto.'" Doors at 8pm, show at 9pm. Tickets are $20 in advance and at the door. The Abbey is located at 3420 W. Grace (at Elston). Call 773-478-4408 for more information.
