Opening: Out of House and Home

AllRise Gallery is holding an opening reception for its latest show, Out of House and Home. The show features five Chicago artists as well as work from artists in Costa Rica, the UK and Canada, all of which addresses private space and public exposure. Specifically, the theme is stated as, "how private space is compromised when the domestic is opened to the public and the personal is turned inside out." Local artists Don Guss, Joseph Mohan and Michael David Rose will show their photography and Duncan R. Anderson and Jared Sheldon will present their pieces in mixed media. Others will display paintings, films and more photography. Tonight's reception is from 7-10pm and includes a live performance from Rounded Binary. AllRise Gallery is located at 1542 N. Schadenfreude Rent Party

Schadenfreude goes "Back to School" tonight with their alternative comedy show at the Gallery Cabaret. The former Chicago Public Radio comedians record their material for video and audio podcast. This show features the co-champs of the recent Rhyme Spitters freestyle competition, the Co-Governors of Space and performer Matt Miller. 8pm. $10 or whatever you can afford. All proceeds go to Schadenfreude's rent.
