The Craft Racket premieres tonight at Uncommon Ground () from 6-9pm. Started by The Chicago Craft Mafia to meet other craft (or non-crafty) business owners in the hopes of finding ways for entrepreneurs to network in a non-stuff environment. Whether you need advice on sourcing materials, help hiring an accountant, or just need some understanding, come enjoy the Whiskey Wednesday specials and say howdy to the Chicago Craft Mafia. You wanna be on their good side, no?
Tonight, the Abbey rocks with friends of GB Canasta supporting Great Lakes and The Clientele. The headliner, Clientele is a band from across the pond whose influences range from Galaxie 500 to 70s AM radio. Their sound is a little dark, but in the "hurts so good" way that make you want more. The Athens, GA band Great Lakes provides great support with an ever-changing band which may include members of Of Montreal and Neutral Milk Hotel just to name a couple. And we always head out to hear Canasta since they rock every which way. Doors open at 8pm, show starts at 9pm. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door. 18+ The Abbey is located at 3420 W. Grace (at Elston). Call 773-478-4408 for more information.
